The preceding table shows average sizes anddimensions and weights of eggs from our com-mon breeds. Measure and compare a number of eggs withthe above table; after a httle practice it will bevery easy to readily judge by sight and touchthe size, shape, and weight of each egg which ishandled. An unusually large egg may be afreak of nature and cannot be expected to unusually small egg may be defective andshould not be used for incubation. An even,uniform lot, assorted as to size, color, and shape,will be more apt to give the best results.
