The First Baptist Church, at 7th and Walnut Streets in Lumberton, NC, suffered damage when winds from Hurricane Matthew toppled one of several nearby large trees into one of their buildings, but despite minor damage, it did not stop relief operations with the help from Federal, State, non-profit and local community such as Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Social Services (DSS) of North Carolina, United Way, Red Cross and the Lumberton community came together to provide efforts to feed, clothe and support local residents with food and essential supplies on , 2016.
