This 1920 image shows: The Yoshitsune 'horsewashing' waterfall signed by Zen Hokusai I-Itsu. It is on eof the 'Waterfall' series. In 1820, Hokusai changed his name from Taito to Iitsu. In 1824 he started to sign prints as ‘Iitsu, formerly Hokusai’ (Zen Hokusai Iitsu hitsu), and this is how he signed most of his prints until 3/1834 when he adopted a new name, Manji, that he used for the rest of his professional career. This woodblock print was done around 1832. The signature reads: Zen Hokusai Iitsu hitsu
