The remainder of the machinery in course of constructioncomprises two 1500-kw three-phase alternators, directly coupledto Ferranti engines, and these develop current at 6000 voltswhen operating at a speed of 150 r. p. m. These sets are beingerected in the works of the London Electric Supply Corporationat Deptford, and will supply current to sub-stations along theline. ROLLING STOCK It is proposed to operate 100 cars of the bogie type, orderedon the specifications of Dr. Kennedy.
