Triceratops dinosaur, old and young. Artwork showing three stages in maturity of the Triceratops dinosaur. It is thought that the variation found in the fossils on which these reconstructions are based may be due to age differences. Alternatively, some identify these variations as distinct species: Nedoceratops, Torosaurus and Triceratops. These dinosaurs lived in the Late Cretaceous, around 68 to 66 million years ago.
