A useful plan for a deep-tank milk-house is shown at figure 39; (a) is the inlet pipe, {b) the outlet, and in the center is the pool. The house should be roomy. A brick or concrete floor is preferable to any other. The concrete is made of gravel or coal ashes, and mixed with a thin mortar of water lime and sand, in the proportion of one of lime to three of sand. The concrete is laid three inches thick and well rammed down. The pool should be lined with brick laid in cement, if it is below the surface ; if it is raised above the surface, it may be built of brick laid in cement and painted inside. For a handsome pool the
