A MW wind turbine, Ness Point, Lowestoft, Suffolk, UK.


The Lowestoft wind turbine was completed in December 2004 and was Suffolk's first commercial wind turbine. Built by SLP Energy at Britain's most easterly point, Ness Point in Lowestoft. Standing some 126m (413 ft) high this giant wind turbine can be seen towering over the town and is estimated to generate of electricity, enough energy to power 1500-1600 homes. The rotor diameter is 92m (301 ft) and each blade weighs 10 tonnes.
