Doncaster North Bus Station car park, South Yorkshire, 1967. Artist: Michael Walters
Doncaster North bus station car park, 1967. The new multi-storey car park above the bus station provided improved parking facilities for the town centre. As with a great number of the bland, late 1960s concrete structures, the station and car park had a limited life span and were totally redeveloped in 2007 to include an extension to the adjacent Frenchgate Shopping Centre, increased parking facilities and an updated bus terminus and travel centre. In the photograph, a selection of period cars can be seen, including an Austin A50 Cambridge, a Mk 1 Cortina, a Hillman Minx, two Ford Anglia vans, (the white one being the photographer's works van at the time) and a Ford Corsair.
