WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE, – The 15 Space Surveillance Squadron, Detachment 1, operates three on-site telescopes to monitor high-interest space objects from White Sands Missile Range, The telescope’s, known as ground-based electro-optical deep space surveillance sensors, high-resolution camera tracks objects 10,000 times dimmer than the human eye can detect, and has a maximum effective range over 100,000 kilometers.
