A Stanier Black 2, number 44932, pulls a steam enthusiasts special up the gradient at Stonegate Station East Sussex. This locomotive is a survivor of the 842 similar ones built. They were introduced from 1934 and were used as general purpose, "go anywhere" locos. They were among the last locos to be withdrawn by British rail in 1968.
