The monastery is restored in the middle of the 15th century, it became a center of lively literary and educational activity. In the 14th - 16th century it was the center of the Sofia Literary School. Many church books are the work of the educational activity of the monastery. Some books are kept in the museums of the monasteries of Mount Athos.
