Some of theseobjects are fine works ofart, as for instance a daggerhandle at Cairo in form ofa lion, or the carved ivoryplaques on a box belongingto Tuai, who lived at theend of the SeventeenthDynasty. Of the MiddleKingdom there is an ivorygaming-board 6 inches longby 4 inches broad withplaying pieces also carvedin ivory.
