Early Christian memorial to Iustus in Ogham (Ogam) & Latin inside St Kew Church, Cornwall, England, UK. Roman letters inside a cartouche read: IVSTI.

An Early Christian memorial to Iustus in Ogham (Ogam) & Latin inside St Kew Church, Cornwall, England, UK. The Roman letters inside a cartouche read IUSTI, the ogham above reads (I)USTI: the Roman name Iustus. The stone was found just outside the churchyard at St Kew, it was probably meant as a pillow-stone to be placed at the head end of a grave. The ancient Celtic monastery of Lanow (Landocco) was founded here by St Docco, this may be the memorial to one of his monks who died here in the mid C6th. By the C10th the monastery was called Landochou & dedicated to Dochou & Cywa (Docco & Kew). St Kew was St Docco's sister & she eventually took over the name of the parish, & the church dedication which was later changed to St James.
