Bronze Buddha statue made in Nepal

A bronze statue made by the lost wax process in Patan, Kathmandu, Nepal. The city is famous for this sort of tourist souvenir and also brass repoussé work. High key sepia toned close up of Buddha figures about 12 inches high. These pieces were purchased for between 50 and 100 UK pounds, a lot of money in Nepal but very cheap for the high quality of the work by international standards. Tibetan Buddhism is practised in Nepal but there is much cross cultural input and seeding of ideas, as well as tourism, and this influences the design of these pieces.
