The Civic Opera House, also called the Lyric Opera House is located in downtown Chicago opened in 1929. The venue seats 3,563, the second-largest opera auditorium in North America following only the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. It is been home to the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Joffrey Ballet. Durning the Christmas season, it features perfromances such as the 'Nutcracker.'
