Tiffany Luther, a crew chief with Bravo Company, 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division carries a competition log on a hike during a deployment for training (DFT) exercise at Fort Stewart, Ga., June 7, 2018. The unit conducted a nine-mile hike to test the Marines’ physical capabilities in a training environment. The DFT helps maintain proficiency in landing the surface assault element during amphibious operations to inland objectives in conjunction with mechanized operations and related combat support in operations ashore.
