Plan for a Menagerie ca. 1783 Charles Percier French With this drawing, Charles Percier won the second prize in the competition for the Grand Prix in 1783. The program called for a menagerie in the form of a square in the park of the château of a sovereign. Among the requirements were an amphitheater and open arenas for animal combat.
