BnsHXELL Record.—The first paper estab-lished in the city of Bushnell was foundedin 1865, by D. G. Swan, in that day one of themost versatile and driving printers of this sec-tion of the country. He was the organizer ofmany newspapers in this part of the State. InBushnell he published the Union Press. andcontinued it for two years, when he disposed. ANDREW J. It was con-tinued iinder Mr. Hagemans management until1S71. when he was compelled to retire on ac-count of declining health. In March, 1S71, Vandyke, who had been the manager ofthe Record, and was a son-in-law of the pro-prietor, assumed charge of the paper and con-tinued its publication for two years. Epperson& Spencer became proprietors in the spring of1S73, and Mr. Epperson sole proprietor andeditor in 1874. Among the later proprietorswere Charles W. Taylor and Thomas H. , and at the close of the year 1882, whenJohn B. Camp purchased Mr. Taylors interest,the firm name was changed to Camp Brothers,^the public being notified of the new manage-ment in the issue of January 12, 18S3.
