In other cases it closedentirely (imperforate hymen). The hymen is usually ruptured at the first sexual intercourse. In somecases rupture of the hymen amounts to nothing more than stretching, withslight abrasion. In other cases there is distinct tearing, with considerable painand some bleeding.
