This extension is used tojirovide a holder for the tool which is used for the purpose offinishing the bottom of the frame fit after tlie flanges havebeen finished. The chucks on which the shoes and wedges are set are boxcastings on the upper faces of whicli are placed a number ofT-head bolts. These l)olts are tightened from the bottom, andtlie heads are roughened to prevent the ends of the castingswliicb bear against tlieni from slipping wlien clamped in place. Details of the Quadruple Tool Holder which permit the finishing of the two flanges both inside andoutside at the same time, and both shoes and wedges are setup on a chuck which securely holds them and requires verylittle work in setting and clamping. The main head, which fastens on the tool post proper, con-tains four auxiliary tool posts and four cutting tools. Theconstruction of this head, as shown in detail in the drawing, is
