Instead of aforging out of one piece,or pieces forged andwelded together, the workconsisted of many sepa-rate forgings which wereriveted to the principalparts. There was madea change in the leavesas the bars were flattened to thin sheets at the endsand cut to shape. Bending, stamping or embossing werealso introduced, as were twisted bars.
