A stone guard at the doorway to the principal tower of Prasat Phnom Rung. Prasat Phnom Rung - a sanctuary built from pink sandstone located 1,320 feet above sea level dates back to the 10th-13th centuries The principal tower was built in the 12th century by Prince Narendraditya of the Mahidharapura dynasty that had relations with Angkor. The prince had this sanctuary erected to be his hermitage and to enshrine his own image at the end of his life.
