Postural Version—In this method the woman is put in dif-ferent positions to influence the position of the child in utero bythe force of gravity. For example, if the brow should present,the woman should be turned on that side toward which the fetalback looks, so that the breech may drop to that side, and thusbring the vertex to the center of the superior strait; or, if thehead should be tightly fixed in the superior strait, the womanmay be turned on that side toward which the face looks, in orderto promote the flexion of tlie childs head, and thus favor a con-version of the brow presentation into one of the vertex. This is a simple, safe, and easy means of performing version,if it is practicable.
