Saturday 5 July 2014 Aberystwyth Wales UK Friends of the Earth Cymru, with the Mid and West Wales Anti-Fracking group organised a day of events and activities on there promenade in Aberystwyth to raise awareness of the dangers of tracking for gas in Wales. They were asking people to sign postcards and petitions to First Minister Carwyn Jones opposing fracking. The aim is to get the Welsh Government to declare a moratorium on fracking and coal bed methane in Wales, a step that is within their powers.
