Snow leopard (Panthera or Uncia uncia). This carnivore inhabits mountainous regions of Central Asia, from north-western China to Tibet and the Himalayas. It feeds mainly on mountain goats and sheep but will also take mice, deer and domestic animals. The snow leopard is active during the early morning and evening. It has been extensively hunted for its fur and is now highly endangered.
