Llangollan Carrog signalbox interior
Carrog Station on the Llangollen and Corwen Railway (inc 1860) is set close to the village of Carrog with its 17th century Dee Bridge, river, mountain vistas and traditional Inn. Meticulously rebuilt by volunteers as it was in the 1950s here you will find Llangollen Railway’s best preserved and authentic station. Buy your tickets through the original ticket window in the original booking hall and visit our excellent friendly Tea Room which serves a variety of freshly made hot and cold snacks, as well as tea, coffee and soft drinks. When planning your next visit to the Llangollen Railway why not base yourself at Carrog Station taking full advantage of the nearby camp-site and our free car park? There is plenty for the discerning traveller to do between trains. You can visit the picturesque Carrog Village with its popular Grouse Inn, riverside walks and places of historical interest. We also have a 5" miniature railway and museum. (When closed enquire via Station Staff.) The Dee Valley is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and home to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct & Llangollen Canal World Heritage Site including many interesting features such as the Chirk Aqueduct, Horseshoe Falls and of course, Llangollen Railway itself!
