Frederick III (1831-1888), Emperor of Germany, 1870. Frederick married Queen Victoria's eldest daughter Victoria in 1858. Cartoon from Vanity Fair, London, 1870, the year Frederick was made a field marshal and the year before he became Crown Prince of Germany. He became Emperor in 1888, but only ruled for 99 days before dying from throat cancer.
