At openingof the college year in 1870, he accepted an appointment as as-sistant librarian of the imiversity. under Professor Tenbrook, insuccession to Air. Davis who retired on account of ill health, andremained until March, 1871, when Mr. Davis returned withrestored health and resumed his duties in the library at Idiayersrequest, as he was longing for a change of air and new fields.
