SAN DIEGO (Nov. 20, 2017) - Undersea Rescue Command (URC), based in San Diego, mobilizes the Pressurized Rescue Module (PRM) to support the ongoing search and rescue efforts for the Argentine submarine San Juan in the South Atlantic Ocean, Nov. 20. URC is deploying two rescue assets, the Submarine Rescue Chamber and the PRM. URC Sailors are highly trained and routinely exercise employing the advanced technology in submarine search scenarios. Air Force C-17 “Globemaster IIIs” and C-5 “Galaxies” from Travis Air Force Base, Calif. and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, are transporting the equipment from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar to Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina.
