Norman doorway of St Laurence's Church, Upton, Slough, Berkshire, 1883. Detail view of the restored doorway. The church dates from the Norman period but had fallen into disrepair by the early 19th century and was to be demolished until it was saved by a local farmer and restored by Benjamin Ferrey in 1850-1851.
