Baden: A presentation sabre of 1856 pattern, with a damascened blade, and eagle-head pommel. 'To its retiring commanding officer, Colonel von Jacobi - the officers of the Infantry Regiment Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm (3rd Baden) No. 111/ 10 April 1906 - 24 March 1909'. A pipe back blade with yelmen, and etched Damascus pattern. The inscription on the obverse side, and the date on the reverse side, are set in a rich floral and trophy ornament. The etchings still bear traces of gilding. A maker's mark is visible on the spine of the blade, reading "Waffenfabrik Otto M,
