No Mcdonalds in Tecoma, protest banner made from individual ribbons tied to the fence near the proposed site of new store.


The "ribbon fairy" as it was known, would tie ribbons to the fence overnight to create the protest banner "no maccas", then overnight the other side would change it to "yes maccas" - whilst technically it was vandalism some would attempt to clean it up and remove, only for it to re-appear overnight again. The site turned out not to be where the new store was actually going to be built but rather next door, and the store was built and as of 2014 is trading and operating successfully in Tecoma.
