Mexican cave fishing. Local Zoque people in the jungles of southern Mexico harvesting the roots of the poisonous barbasco plant. They will use this to prepare a paste that will be used to catch cave fish. This area is near the Cueva de Villa Luz (Cave of the Lighted House), where the waters are rich in hydrogen sulphide, forming the basis of a chemical food chain and ecosystem, rather than one based on sunlight.
