Sheung Shui is the first stop on the railway from mainland China. for several years up to the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, it was very popular among shoppers making daytrips from the mainland. Pharmaceuticals, dried seafoods and designer fashions were among the most popular things to buy. After more than a year of a closed Hong Kong Border, many businesses have closed, and others are suffering.
