The old Covent Garden Market London 1973

Covent Garden was the most important fruit & vegetable Market in the UK until 1973, when it was forced to move to larger premises due to increasing traffic congestion. It is now a famous tourist attraction and the former Market halls have been saved. These captures were made at around 8 o'clock on a cold winter's morning just a week before the market closed and was relocated to 9 Elms, a few miles further south, and away from the congestion of central London. High speed Ektachrome film was used, uprated to 800ASA, hence the rather coarse grain.
