saint hubert chapel, resting place of Leonardo da Vinci, France

This is a detail of the stain glass of the St Hubert Chapel, next to the castle of Amboise. This is where Leonardo da Vinci was reburried in 1863 after his remains were recovered from the burned down St Florentin church (burned down in 1807), where he was originally burried in 1519. Leonardo da Vinci was invited to live in Amboise by Francis 1st in 1516, where he died in 1519. Once home to the king Charles VIII and Francis 1st, only 1/5 of the castle remain today. It suffered from several phases of demolition after the monarchy moved to Paris until 1815, when the great-granddaughter of Louis XIV inherited the castle.
