The engines are non-condensing,the exhaust steam being for heating theshops in the winter, in connection witlithe Sturtevant system, at five poundspressure, the condensed water beingpumped back to the apparatus, and the north side of the hicomotive sliop andthe erecting work is on tlie soutli sidoand across the east end-Tube work is very quickly and expe-ditiously done on those engines whichcome in for that purpose, and as theWinnipeg shops are in the bad waterdistrict there is a good deal of this work.
