Gerald Hansen, the outgoing commanding officer of the Dambusters of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 195, launches flares after detaching from a formation at the conclusion of the in-flight change of command ceremony above the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73). Hansen was relieved by Cmdr. David Culpepper during the ceremony. George Washington, the NavyÕs only permanently forward-deployed aircraft is conducting its summer tour helping to insure security and stability in the western Pacific Ocean. (
