PACIFIC OCEAN (Jan. 13, 2017) Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108) prepares to receive fuel from fleet replenishment oiler USNS Guadalupe (T-AO 200) as Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) receives fuel and cargo during a replenishment-at-sea. Wayne E. Meyer is part of the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group who will report to 3rd Fleet, headquartered in San Diego, while deployed to the Western Pacific as part of the Pacific Fleet-led initiative to extend the command and control functions of 3rd Fleet into the region.
