Shanny (Lipophrys pholis), also known as the smooth or common blenny, a member of the Blenniidae family. This is an intertidal species that inhabits rock pools and shallow waters often hiding under stones and seaweed after the retreating tide. It is found in the eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean feeding primarily on crustaceans. Photographed in West Wales, UK, in September.
