For Vibrant Response 18, Rowand sets up an average of six VTCs a day for both real-world and exercise missions. The 'Super Sentinel' Mobile Command Center also enables communications with first responders during crises, allow faxing and phone capabilities, and helps Army North communicate all over the world when necessary. Army North executes the annual Vibrant Response consequence management exercise at the direction of Northern Command to confirm command and control elements of the nation’s CBRN response forces. Force Command’s linked exercise, Guardian Response, held at Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, validates how the subordinate units train to carry out the operations under the direction of a joint task force.
