He is a son of the late Dr. W. D. Wilhite,so lonor known in the city of Salisbury as a jiracticing- physician andchristian gentleman of high standing. He recieved his rudimentary 64 PORTRAIT AND BIOGRAPHICAL education in the public schools of hisnative city, and was for two years,1888-89, a student in the SalisburyAcademy. Having had for sometime a yearning for the dental pro-fession, and having early shown anaptitude for its peculiar requirements,he entered the Kansas City DentalCollege; and in March, 1892, gradu-ated with a high grade from that in-stitution. A month later he hadequipped an office with all the latestand best appliances and was engagedin the practice of his profession inSalisbury, Mo. Most unusual to pro-fessional life, he was spared thenecessity of passing through theproverbial starving period, and from the first was accorded a successful practice by a generous andappreciative public. And his practice has never abated, but on thecontrary has had a regular and continued growth, until now his patron-age extends over a large territory, and he is one of the busiest men inSalisbury. He is thoroughly devoted to his profession, and takesdelight in making every piece of work of
