Puros, Namibia-August 4, 2021- Metal tag on the sculpture: Nr 17 - Name: Given up waiting for 11. Side view of a stone man nr 17, sitting on a ledge, with his arms wrapped around his knees, looking at the mountains, next to the D3707 gravel road, close to the small town of Puros, in the Namib , Namibia. The sculpture is made from stone and iron and is about 750mm high, and is not protected from wind or weather. These men are known as the lone men or stone men of the Kaokoveld and there approximately 27 of them scattered in the Kaokoveld in Northern Namibia, Africa. The artist has not come forward to date and is a mystery.
