Sgt. Chanidapa Suksiripornrit, culinary specialist assigned to 61st Support Maintenance Company, 194th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 2nd Sustainment Brigade, an Alexandria, Va. native (originally from Bangkok, Thailand), stands proudly for a photograph in honor of Women’s History Month, Camp Casey, March 10, 2019. September 2008, at age 11, Suksiripornrit moved to the United States and waited several years before receiving her green card. Then, in April 2015, she enlisted in the Virginia Army National Guard. She became an American citizen July 2016 shortly after completing Advanced Individual Training at the Joint Culinary Center of Excellence, Fort Lee, Va. Korea is her first active duty assignment.
