A graceful swan on water. Basingstoke, UK: THESE BEAUTIFUL images show the grace of swans, reflected perfectly in the water. One image shows a swan running on water, gliding on water as it?s reflection is captured perfectly in the lake. The mute swan measures up to 63 inches in length, with a wingspan of 94 inches and weighs around 32 pounds. These images were captured by professional photographer Kerry Englefield, known by her Instagram handle @influencedfx, in Basingstoke using a Canon 90D camera. ?I set out with a friend before sunrise and navigated the dark forest in search of this lake which is home to a family of swans,? said Kerry. ?This swan sat in the shadows for some time and then with a few flaps of those wings, took off running on water. ?As it took off, it flew towards the morning light coming in from between the trees and this highlighted the swan against a dark background. ?I?ve captured many swans take off and land, but to get the position and light right, with a clear mirrored reflection is the hard part. ?I was on the edge of the lake and the swan was some distance away at the time. ?I believe wildlife should be observed from a distance and not disturbed by our presence in order to capture the best images. ?I can't tell wildlife what to do, so you really need to know and understand your subject, be in the right place at the right time and be prepared to fail before you capture any credible shots.
