KUWAIT (Aug. 31, 2015) Marine Cpl. Erik Troutz fires a special application scoped rifle at a target during a sniper shoot. Troutz is a scout sniper with Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. During the training, Marines engaged targets at unknown distances ranging from 300 to more than 1,000 yards. Elements of the 15th MEU are ashore in Kuwait for sustainment training to maintain and enhance the skills they developed during their pre-deployment training period.
