HARDY RIDGE, OR PRESCOTT. These melons are very large, round, flattened on both ends, skin white, warty, widely and deeply ribbed. They are the thickest meated of all melons ; being nearly solid, with but few seed. The flesh, four to five inches thick, is of a beauti- ful, rich salmon color, very juicy and sugary. This melon is the great favorite in France. In Paris they are served almost daily at table d'hote ; they are eaten with pulverized sugar, and are highly esteemed. Pkt. locts. ; per cz. 30 cts.
