The minimum of 26 degrees came in the 24-hour period previous to 8:00 on the 11th. Sprinklers are in operation for frost protection set at 30 degrees. Pre- cipitation total for February was inches with the greatest amount of tallied at 8:00 on the 25th. The drought condi- tions of 1977 have, at this time, been overcome but precipitation is still below normal. January-Febru- ary totals: 1977 1978 Average Ground water storage for the entire Long Beach area is slowly returning to an acceptable level for use throughout the growing season. Hew ^eudi The moderate winter weather of January gradually became more severe and some of the most frigid weather ever recorded in Pember- ton occurred in February. The average temperature of degrees F made it the second coldest month of February and the third coldest month in the 49 years of weather.
