In my last monthly report (for April) in the Fredonian, I madethe following remarks, viz : I am compelled to stop these reports byfailing sight, but they will be continued by younger hands. I have given my instruments to my young friend, Charles of Bayard street, who takes great interest in the matter, isthoroughly competent for the work and will continue the monthlyreports. He has a much better exposure for the instruments than I had, and, therefore, the maximum record will be somewhat higher, andthe minimum somewhat lower than my record has been.
