However, there is a continual de- mand for them and probably will be until asters appear to take their place. A few blooms of the new rose, Premier, are coming into the market, but it is not at its best, as the flowers are cut from young stock. There is a limited supply of Easter lilies, orchids and valley. Shasta daisies are showing up well, as are also gaillardias, coreopsis and other leading perennials. Gypsophila is being used to a large extent. Hydrangea arborescens is arriving in large quantities and is making a splen- did showing. Various Notes. The opening of the large Eowland Furniture Co. July 9 occasioned a heavy demand on all retailers for baskets and novel arrangements of all kinds in sea- sonable flowers, particularly Hydrangea arborescens, gladioli, Russell and Amer- ican Beauty roses. The many thousands of cut roses and carnations given away at this opening were furnished by the New Haven Floral Co. Handsome summer gladioli are being featured by the Flick Floral Co.
